By Fire, Jessica Cuello

She is a solitude with us.
Gold with ribbon hair
we braid it thickly
in a crown. She cries.

She hardly speaks. She blushes
if we touch her head.
We observe the blue gold
order of her loom.

Oc means yes. We live
in the land of yes.
